Temporal trends in the epidemiology of HIV in Turkey.
CONCLUSION: The epidemiologic profile of HIV infected individuals is changing rapidly in Turkey with an increasing trend in the number of newly diagnosed people disclosing themselves as MSM. New diagnoses were mostly at young age. Late diagnosis was found to be challenging issue. Despite unavailability of data for the first 90, Turkey is close to the last two steps of 90-90-90 targets. Assessment of Transmitted HIV-1 Drug Resistance Mutations Using Ultra-Deep Pyrosequencing in A Turkish Cohort.
CONCLUSION: UDPS was used for the first time to assess TDRM in a Turkish HIV cohort and uncovered several mutations hidden within minority variants. UDPS may be preferred to detect PDRMs for avoiding virologic failure with rilpivirine-based ART regimens. PMID: 30198436 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Co-medications and drug-drug interactions in people living with HIV in Turkey in the era of integrase inhibitors.
CONCLUSION: Results suggested the need for attention about co-medication in PLWH regardless of whether they are young or older. CNS drugs should be questioned more detailed in MSM, as well as CVS drugs in older HS patients. Elvitegravir/cobicistat is significantly associated with DDIs and switching to an unboosted INSTI should be considered in patients with multiple comorbidities. Diversity of HIV-1 subtypes and transmitted drug-resistance mutations among minority HIV-1 variants in a Turkish cohort
CONCLUSION: The high diversity of protease site TDRMs in the minority HIV-1 variants and prevalence of CRFs were remarkable in this study. All minority HIV-1 variants were missed by conventional sequencing. TDRM prevalence among minority variants appears to be decreasing over time at our center.PMID:34802406 | DOI:10.2174/1570162X19666211119111740

Changing Characteristics of Patients Living with HIV/AIDS after COVID-19 Pandemics in Turkey
CONCLUSION: Less number of newly diagnosed PLWH can be explained by less HIV testing, less admission to the health care or actual decrease of HIV prevalence during pandemic. Sexual behaviors may have changed during COVID-19 pandemic which could lead to HIV transmission restriction. Lower CD4 counts among the newly diagnosed PLWH suggest that admittance to health care is late and a significant portion of PLWH remain undiagnosed.PMID:35240974 | DOI:10.2174/1570162X20666220303103805
